We need to start being kinder to ourselves

When you look in the mirror in the morning, do you smile at yourself or grimace and criticise what you see?

Let's turn it around. What do you do when you meet a friend and look into their face? Do you inwardly criticise their imperfections or smile because you're pleased to see them?

Can you see where I'm going with this?

I'm getting on a bit now and showing the battle scars of my life lived so far. A few more wrinkles than I had last year, hair disappearing by the day, and I'm a bit of a short arse at only 5 foot 7 inches, so nothing striking to look at.

I could be really unfriendly to myself when I look in the mirror, but what's the point if I can't change it?

What I do have is experience in life and business. I've done things right, and I've done things wrong – haven't we all? But at least I'm having a go and will continue for as long as I have life left in these bones.

As a coach and mentor, if I can impart some of that experience to others so they can make a better life for themselves, that will be my legacy.

People have to make their own decisions about what they want to do with their life, but with someone else's help, encouragement and belief, it can make all the difference.

I don't need movie star good looks to do that. I just need to believe in myself and in you.

Society is too quick to judge these days. We'll look for a negative before we see a positive. I think this is bullshit. We should look for the good in everything first, including who people are and what they want to do.

This world can be challenging enough before we start in on ourselves. So next time you look in the mirror, that's your very best friend you're looking at. So smile and tell them, "We've got this!" 💪🏼

Have a great day!

Andy 😊
