My Biggest Takeaway
Vicky the magic maker
Our new Spanish accountant is a magician; she has this incredible ability to make things disappear (all legal and above board, I'll have you know).
She also has a wicked sense of humour and said, judging by the honesty of my financial returns, I was being "more catholic than the Pope" 😇
Not being a religious man, I told her that my fear of the Hacienda was greater than my fear of God.
She laughed, I laughed, the tax man laughed (actually he didn't)…
Nowt so certain as death and taxes, you might as well make 'em fun.
PS: If you want her number, let me know 🪄 |

Experience of the Week
No humans allowed...
On Sunday, we found herds of deer, wild boar and ponies, all behind a tall, barbed wire fence.
Sound a bit sad? Not so…
Because that fence isn’t to keep them in, it’s to keep us, humans, out of their natural environment.
It stops these beautiful animals being needlessly hunted down, and prevents idiots from starting devastating wildfires.
And I like that. In fact, it tells us a thing or two about our own race 🤔 |

What I wrote
The Circle of Control
Jules asked me how I always remain so calm about things, and after a bit of a ponder, we came to the conclusion that I only focus on things I can control.
When things are becoming overwhelming in your life, try using the Circle of Control.
I've broken it down for you here... |

What I Watched
Danny Macaskill: The Ridge
Danny climbs aboard a mountain bike and returns to his native home of the Isle of Skye in Scotland to take on a death-defying ride along the notorious Cuillin Ridgeline.
Quite simply unbelievable, with cinematography to match.
Watch the 7 minutes of magic here... |
