My Biggest Takeaway
Don't sweat the small stuff
It may surprise you to know that when you fly on a plane, not all the parts might be working properly. And the pilot knows this before he takes off.
What gives? Well, he’s got a thing called a Minimum Equipment List.
This is a list of inoperative equipment that an aircraft can have before making a flight. It is a way to ensure that the rest of the stuff is okay and the flight can go ahead.
Otherwise, a lot more people would be going nowhere.
It’s a bit like life. We focus on the minutiae and talk ourselves out of taking action. So we stay stuck where we are while others are heading off to new and more exciting destinations.
Maybe we should all have a Minimum Equipment List 🤔
Experience of the Week
Disaster in the kitchen, but is it?
On Tuesday, by her admission, Joolsy failed spectacularly in the kitchen - twice.
Whilst prepping for our first Picnic at the Polo, her focaccia didn’t rise, and her cheese straws were all straw and no cheese.
But she didn’t give up; she’s like that. And by the end of the day, the raspberry and chocolate brownies could have won her MasterChef 2023.
There’s no such thing as failure, we either win or we learn. Giving up is a choice.
Brownie, anyone?
Quote of the Week
Try to learn to breathe deeply, really to taste food when you eat, and when you sleep, really to sleep. Try as much as possible to be wholly alive with all your might, and when you laugh, laugh like hell. And when you get angry, get good and angry. Try to be alive. You will be dead soon enough. ~ Hemingway
Tune of the Week
Jason Mraz - Details in the Fabric
I’ve heard from a couple of people this week who are struggling. This one’s for you...
It got me through when I was at my lowest ebb in Australia.
Hold your own, know your name, and go your own way and everything will be fine.
Wait for the classic quote at the very end (on the voicemail)...
